So while a few things have changed, I am being more organized, eating way healthier to what I was before and am keeping up a positive outlook, Mark and I have also been reducing our arguments to good old bickering. I’ve only done the go back to your mothers once so far so that’s really good. Haha dysfunctional? Yes! But it works for us.
Anyways, one thing that hasn’t changed is my desire for a sibling of the fur kid kind for my Tyra. A Puppy!! Something I am sure she will appreciate but I have no doubt in her ability to adjust over time, to probably a brother.
God I would love a dog of my own. Having a big lack of canine interaction is making it worse. You prob think I’m all sad and pathetic but you are prob the ones without a four legged canine friend. I have since I was a toddler always had a dog around. I love my Ty but cats are not the same as dogs, you cant walk them, give them left over’s, cuddle the same way etc. I still really want a Cav or a Golden and was thinking the other day, how puppies are really like kids.
You have to give them food and shelter, toilet train, socialize and exercise, teach them wrong from right and what you says goes. No means no and sit means sit, not flop around playfully before grabbing your shoe and running around with it. Be firm but fair. They have their “teething” stage to, where everything in sight was made to go into their mouths and be chewed up, spat out or swallowed – whether or not you agree with it. Sleepless nights and when something is swallowed, stressful and sometimes expensive trips to the vets. And then there is adolescence, the teenage years and then one day it will dawn on you how grown up and old they have become and wonder – where did that puppy go?
I have been through sleepless nights with Tyra, I have been working on her understanding sofa’s are not something to scratch on. We have cuddle and playtime and she knows how to let us know it’s time for dinner! But I want a new “baby” one I can take out and show off to everyone. (Ah that’s where cats/dogs differ) go down to the beach to get all wet and sandy and make a mess of the car of the way home. Bribe with smacko’s and take to puppy preschool – and all the other things you just cant do with a cat and I never got to do with the dogs I’ve had in the past as I’ve always had them from 3-4years + and someone else got to have all the cute puppy photo’s and go through the highs and lows of bringing the new little one into their home. That’s what I want, and I can not wait until I have a house and all that can begin.
AND in a fit of lameness I came across this article from Modern Dog Magazine on Puppy Showers! And there is so much out there from invites, decorations and gift baskets etc for them! I never knew but something I think would be adorable to have haha – since most of my friends are as pet/animal friendly as what I am I don’t think they’d mind coming along!
But who knows what the future holds???

Hopefully one of these!!
