Research - look up the meaning you idiots!!

I am so over the Japanese. Sure they are the nerds of the world and the main advances in today’s technology come from them and all the other crap Japan does and I do love nori BUT why cant we just drop some more nukes on them and get rid of them before they get rid of the whale population for the most stupid unheard of “research” they claim to be doing. Putting RESEARCH on a boat isn’t enough to fool the world! Maybe George Bush but I doubt even HE is that stupid!

You would think the people who created Robots, could conduct the so called ‘research’ like all the other marine biologists of the world with tagging (not harpooning) and all the other things they manage to do without killing them. And whether it’s the Japanese or not, you would think by now in 2007 – people in general, no matter the nation or culture etc would have the understanding of ‘animal conservation’. The Humpback Whale was such a target in the whaling industry, over hunting caused the population to decline up to 90% before freeze on whaling the species was put in place in 1966. They were on the brink of extinction and due to that law being brought in the whale had managed to recover and now in November the Japanese decided to put them back on their menu, I mean research list. Just because they managed to come back once doesn’t mean they can again and why risk it? Its like the rhino’s in Africa, the elephants in Asia. What happens when other people with other species get caught in animal/wildlife sanctuary. Major penalties!! Fines, Jail time etc. Most if not all the Japanese whaling goes on in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Why isn’t the government doing something? Now there are talks of sending out a boat and helicopter to monitor them, what’s that going to do? Start enforcing some law and punishment!!

If you go to whaling on wikipedia (love that place) and go to conservation status it lists the endangered, vulnerable, practically extinct (gray whales, 2 groups totally about 300 left in the wild) How many of the remaining whale species have to join the final column before something is done? Probably all of them as with other species it hasn’t made a difference as the problem is still happening everyday!

You all know where I stand on this type of thing, I did the blog awhile ago on the rhino. This stuff makes me angry and ya’ll wonder why I don’t donate to people charities? Cause people are selfish morons who only realise things when its to late to do anything to fix it! Like poverty, countries have been that way for ever. Corrupt governments and a few bad decisions leave you in a third world state and then they all cry about it and ask for aid and help. I don’t feel any empathy or really care about us, animals who are murdered, abused, abandoned – that is where my heart pours out as they can not speak or help themselves. What is a whale going to do faced with a harpoon when its just swimming along with its pod, calf in tow? Yeah think what you want but that’s my views and I wish more people would pay attention and give a second thought to the animals we have to share the world with cause when its to late and they’re only found in zoo’s (for a limited time as breeding would have to stop eventually due to inbreeding etc) people will shift the blame when really there is no else but themselves to criticize and accuse of it.

Well that’s my rant for today!!

Fashion Foot Forward.

There are some great celebs out at the moment, now the usual trashy party crowd who hog the headlines and red carpet events are dwindling. I was never a huge fan of Hayden Panettiere, until quite recently (literally, yesterday when I was browsing some online fashion sites) when I realized what a natural beauty she actually is. Even on the “stars without makeup” pages she shines above the others, dam her young perfect skin! Her style is what is in style at the moment but also with her own personal touch. But one thing is for sure, she is stunning and although I don’t watch Heroes I hope she does start to appear in some movie real movies, and I think she could even bypass the teenage rut Hilary Duff has been clinched to. This winter I want a beige trench, and a pair of knee high boots to wear with my jeans and said trench just like Hayden. Loving it!!! Plus she also has an arrest warrant for trying to save the dolphins from the Japanese. Kudo’s for that.

Of course teen queen Hilary Duff is always lovely. Much like Hayden but slightly different. Hilary with always be Lizzie Mcguire to me and her movies will always hold a spot in my 16 year old girly heart and her style and choices will always be looked at with admiration, cause really, she does have fabulous style. Maybe some red carpet choices are a little.. um yeah but really, she doesn’t do wrong to often! Plus she helps out dog/animal charities and with her sister have opened their own. Even more Kudo’s for that!

I also have a thing for Katie Holmes and Jennifer Love Hewitt. I am a huge fan of JLH and Ghost Whisperer has become one of my fav shows just for the fact she has the best wardrobe! I love all those dresses she has and just the overall style of the show. Plus offscreen she still dresses and has that same kind of style. I love it! I read once she uses Horse Shampoo on her hair. It always looks stunning so if any one knows if there’s any truth to that – let me know, I may just try it and hope JLH locks of my own!! And Katie Holmes. Never a fan till she got hitched to Tom “Jackass” Cruise and became BFF with Posh. I read about her great, no constricting, sexless, loving, unsually normal marriage to Tom weekly in all my mags and online sites and feel sorry for her. If its all true about Tom and his Little Man Syndrome (which I think it is since Nicole Kidman has started to comment on her own relationship/marriage to him) why the hell is she still with him? Not for Suri who looks like Chris Kleins love child. If all I read has not go truth to I still for sorry for her being subject to all those horrible rumours etc. Still, seeing her wear high heels on the red carpet next to Tom Cruise and seeing how amazingly fit and stunning she is looking each time she makes an appearance (love the new ‘do) someone is putting on the pants in the relationship and taking control. Go Katie! And is her style her own or has Posh had a bit of influence?? Who knows just don’t over do the fake tan anytime soon Katie cause that will ruin it all!

Paris Hilton. Love her or hate her, I think she’s great. Entertainment value, fashion value, lack of values… how can you not be interested on the rollercoaster that is Paris?! I am also loving her style at the moment. The lack of hair extensions gives her a more natural look which is much more appealing than anything else and her dress sense is slightly more, conservative. With Paris its more of a look and admire but never do, at least with the others you can try and incorporate things you’ve seen them do (beige trench) into what you can do.

Quick question… what the hell is the deal with kate moss? I really find her so over-rated, ugly and horrible. If some one can explain to me the appeal etc about her – please do so!

And yeah.. don’t know what really got this going but thought I’d share my thoughts and where my winter wardrobe will be finding inspiration from!

Been Awhile....

Haven’t blogged much lately. Nothing has really been happening. I miss Melbourne, the city, the shops, the trams, the culture, the food, being able to go see Shaz, Dracula’s ... Everything!! Perth is just, Perth. I plan on going back for a weekend either in April before my birthday or in June after it or hanging off for abit longer and going around the same time.

Anyways, Christmas is almost here! Yay! But not really. I am kind of over the whole Christmas thing. Friday night I was organizing my photo albums and found some pictures of my baby Chocky. Christmas ones of all things with him sitting patiently next to the Christmas tree with his doggie treat stocking and what not and it made me cry, for like 2 hours until a went to sleep. This is kinda what has ruined my Christmas fun/excitement. First Christmas without him. *cries again* But crying till I went to sleep left me waking up with the most horrible headache/blocked nose which by Saturday left me a very unhappy miserable sick Jen. Sunday was feeling a little better but was just really tired from being sick Saturday so just chilled out and rested up.

Couldn’t have chosen a worse time than this weekend really, was meant to go to Mel’s place Saturday night and Lisa and Mitch were going to come over Sunday Night so that threw those plans out the window.

This Sunday Mel and Bex are meant to be coming over, going to Buzz it up and I have planned the most easiest meal ha ha and then I can give Mel all her presents – she kinda got really spoiled! And Bex can have hers to, very practical and useful.

But yeah that’s pretty much all that’s been happening. Missing Melbourne. Still Missing Chocky. I still can not believe it’s the end of 2007 hey. It doesn’t feel end of year like….

But I am suppose to be saving!

I brought a book called, Cashed Up, Debt Free and Laughing - to get organised and hope the saving side of things and budget planning stuff sinks in.

I leave my debit card at home 95% of the time to try and resist temptation.

I have been taking out a set amount of a cash for spending and see above.

And then after doing things for christmas presents and the unit (been v.good - no junky not necassary items for Jen!) I am back at work from my 2 week break and in that time I haven't had internet access (besides the limited facebook/myspace/email on my phone) and now I am back at work, I do and thats were my problem begins.

I am an online shopper. I can browse ebay for hours, find "cheap" things anywhere online for things no one could even imagine. I have yet to transfere money onto my visa debit card and might see who I can suss out to get me these things for christmas first... but anyways....

OMG!! Miijo is so brilliant and great and I love it so much BUT it is also the source of all spending evil and with the new items they have it stock from the much admired Disney Couture line.... trying so hard not to log onto internet banking. WHY WHY WHY*cries* There have been a few things I have been admiring for a while now that I havent found on an Australian site only ones from the USA and now... they're on Miijo. Now easily accessible and can arrive in 5-10 working days.

Oh this is torture haha
